Privacy policy

Who we are

Boston Twin Palms Accommodation is a privately owned self-catering unit at 39 13th Avenue, Boston, Bellville, 7530, Cape Town. It is run by its host, David, who is responsible for the personal information we hold and is our information officer.

This website

This website is for information only. It has no forms, accounts or booking system, and you can browse it without telling us who you are.

• No cookies. The website itself sets no cookies.
• No analytics or advertising trackers. We don't use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or similar tools.
• Hosting. The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, so it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Maps. Some pages show a map from OpenStreetMap. When the map loads, your browser connects to OpenStreetMap's servers, which receive your IP address. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.

Booking and other websites

All bookings are made on LekkeSlaap, not on this website. When you book, LekkeSlaap handles your details and payment under its own privacy policy, which is part of its terms and conditions.

We also link to WhatsApp, Google Maps and the websites of nearby businesses. Once you follow one of those links, that service's own privacy policy applies, for example WhatsApp's privacy policy.

When you book or contact us

We hold personal information about you only if you book a stay or get in touch. This can include:

• the booking details LekkeSlaap passes on to us so we can host you, such as your name, contact details and dates of stay
• anything you send us yourself by WhatsApp or email

We use this information only to:

• prepare for and manage your stay, including check-in, directions and access
• answer your questions
• keep the records we are required to keep by law, for example for tax

We do not sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with anyone except where we need to in order to host you or where the law requires it. We won't send you marketing messages unless you ask us to.

How long we keep it, and how we protect it

We keep your information only for as long as we need it for your stay and for any period the law requires us to keep records. After that we delete it. We take reasonable steps to keep it safe, and only David has access to it.

Your rights

Under POPIA you can ask us to:

• tell you whether we hold personal information about you, and give you a copy of it
• correct information that is wrong or out of date
• delete information we no longer need or are not allowed to keep
• stop using your information for a particular purpose, where you have the right to object
